The Art of…Womanliness?

Brett at Art of Manliness knocks it out of the park again with What Can Manly Men Expect of Women?. One could add to this the characteristics of the oft-used Proverbs 31. Society needs women to be women and men to be men. Isn’t it great that God defined very specific, but interdependent, roles for us?

Check your Bible again…..He did NOT define separate and specific roles for men and women. Rather, He commanded BOTH men AND women to be fruitful and increase in number, to fill the earth and subdue it, and to rule over all the other creatures on the earth.

  2. First, thanks for commenting and reading.

You’re right – in that verse out of Genesis, God doesn’t define specific roles for men and women. I was looking at the situation in a very global, whole Biblical context. I think even the most critical readers of Esther, Ruth, etc. would agree that God, through the writings He inspired, defined specific gender framework.
